Introducing a methodology to define the negative effects of upward façade lighting in historical buildings.

Abstract Light pollution is a phenomenon that affects both humans and the environment negatively. Currently there are no established means to calculate light pollution. This work proposes method for calculating levels of on facades buildings, specifically historical which most difficult light, using simulation techniques. The proposed methodology tested different grid densities concluded highest density produces accurate results, since lower prone software errors. Moreover, this research proves visual perception lit façade wrong way determine if lighting design comprehensive should be used percentage spills into environment.
